My connection is too slow for Steam to verify your account. I've attempted several solutions, such as adjusting the Steam configuration to enable offline mode, but my password remains unset. Could you find a way to play your games without logging into Steam (it's likely protected), or is there an alternative method to access them without an internet connection? Thanks!

No way to play your games without logging in, except by pretending to be a pirate. But that needs a decent internet connection to download files, which isn’t helpful if your speed is too slow for Steam to run well. Now that you think about it, you shouldn’t have to sign in every time offline mode starts. Once set to offline, a popup should appear asking whether you want to connect online or stay offline.

You invest heavily in your PC but lack sufficient internet access. Considering this, how fast is your internet connection? Are you connected via cable or wireless?

I charge a premium over $100 each month for internet access. Promised speeds reach up to 5mbps, yet I consistently exceed 1mbps with a 100GB data limit. The provider is named "Explornet," and it’s the only option available nearby. Though cable exists within about a kilometer, I prefer wireless. I should acknowledge the Canadian government (and ISPs) for investing heavily in northern infrastructure, while many populated southern regions remain underserved. Well... if higher payments meant better service, I’d consider it.

2017 and this garbage. Yeah, it’s even worse since I used to live where the internet cost half the price for unlimited data—five times faster and a hundred times more dependable.

There is cellular Internet available. Although data limits are strict, basic authentication functions effectively. I handle this myself. For gaming, I download content to my Windows tablet at work or another open hotspot, then connect and verify. If needed, this might be a practical option for a gaming laptop if the situation remains unchanged.

I really can't defend a gaming laptop when I have a proper gaming setup at home. I might need to take my computer to school for better internet, Steam access, game updates, and just in case the offline feature fails.
