I believe The Witcher 3 continues to excel in world-building, exploration, and especially combat compared to Skyrim. While storytelling isn't the sole or most significant distinction, I find it unfair to constantly pit the two games against each other. The Witcher 3 benefits from four years of development, allowing players to see what works and what doesn’t across many iterations of the open-world RPG style. In 2011, The Elder Scrolls was the only title delivering on its promises. It’s no surprise that TW3 surpasses much of that. Skyrim remains a top modding community due to its sparse environments and open character creation, which are great for developers.

I believe Witcher 3 would be a great choice since it's another excellent action RPG. I've spent around 350 hours on it (after dedicating about 250 to Skyrim). It's played in third person and offers an impressive story, stunning visuals, plenty of engaging side missions, and the Gwent card game adds an extra layer of fun. I haven't tried either of the previous titles either. A game of the year edition is essential, especially with both DLCs delivering top-notch quality.
