Hello, I was searching for information about the Nvidia GeForce GTX 970M 6GB and its performance with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. I’m curious how it would run on a laptop I recently purchased. Feel free to share your thoughts, as I might have posted this in the wrong forum section. Thanks!

Even with "probably" and "in theory," we still can't predict the outcome of a game that hasn't happened yet.

Agreed, that's a reasonable observation.

The only thing I can say is it’s likely to perform better than most people expect. Many folks claim how incredibly challenging it is to play Witcher 2 at maximum settings, but Witcher 3 should follow suit. In reality, the original version was relatively smooth even back then—just avoid ubersampling and you’ll be okay. It might be worth going with 4K supersampling for a smoother experience. I think it will run quite well on a 970m resolution.

I just completed playing The Witcher 2 with ubersampling enabled at the highest settings, and it performed well in my view. It was a pleasant experience. Appreciate you taking the time to comment. Edit: I might consider disabling ubersampling for upcoming titles.

It seems unclear why you’d need Uber Sampling at 970m unless you’re okay with a lower frame rate. If you’re comfortable with around 30fps, you’ll likely perform well in Witcher 3 without it.

I was mostly just browsing, but I lean toward 60 fps instead of 30. Regarding your question, the GTX 970M is similar in performance to the GTX 770.

It's quite similar in general, but the details remain uncertain until they're revealed.

I understand, I’ll wait until the game ends, then download it from GOG.com. I’ll add my thoughts here so anyone interested can read them later. Thanks for the feedback!
