He made a video comparing the Witcher 3 on Xbox One and PC, showing they looked similar. People wonder what polygon counts match those resolutions—like 1050 or 1080—on an Xbox One.

it appears similar, yet the pc version supports higher resolutions and framerates, plus modding capabilities. i believe the xbox one falls within the r9 280 or r7 270x range, making it comparable to a 1050/1080 setup as you mentioned.

it's not only about higher resolutions and frame rates—it's also about the amount of polygons and other details the 1080 can display. In E3 2013, the game appeared much improved compared to its initial release. They increased the maximum settings or reduced polygon counts to make the Xbox One look better, which helped boost sales.

The versions differ significantly. The PC build offers superior texture, AO, and resolution. See the digital foundry comparison for more details.

Comparing streaming video and console graphics isn't straightforward. The compression in streaming makes it hard to see the advantages of different frame rates or resolutions clearly. CDProjekt Red admitted they had to simplify graphics for the console version. I don’t know if you can break it down to polygon counts, but estimates once said the Xbone matched the power of an HD 7790, which is far less than a GTX 1080.

However, it doesn't reach the maximum level and it doesn't appear as good as it should be

It would help if there was a single game, map, or character to highlight the 1080 resolution clearly for everyone.

Do you own a 1080 version? I’d definitely push the game to its limits using hairworks. You could also experiment with a graphics mod such as Turbo Lighting or reworked textures.

I’d prefer a 1080 resolution, but turbo lighting really enhances the experience. Mods can improve visuals, though they can’t undo changes once modders are involved. Can you guess how much it would cost to restore the original settings if needed?
