Wireless bridge
Wireless bridge
Hi! I'm trying to set up a wireless connection between my home and a shed that's roughly 10 meters away. I have two ISP routers and am curious if it's feasible.
Are you referring to modems that include routing capabilities (essentially internet gateways)? If so, they usually restrict access to certain settings needed for activation or deactivation. Let's explore the models and signal considerations.
Signal strength in a shed can be affected by distance—10 meters is typically sufficient for gigabit Ethernet. However, device compatibility and network configuration play key roles.
I received a 15 meter Ethernet cable and connected it to both routers/modems. I set up an uplink from the combined modem in my home to the one in my shed. The main issue I noticed is that the two IP addresses might be conflicting.
Ensure the second router operates in bridge mode or turn off capabilities that let it function as a basic switch.
