Looking for a USB Wi-Fi adapter under $15 that functions with macOS 13 Ventura? You mentioned using one for Windows and it only worked on older macOS versions. That’s because the built-in adapter in your 2010 iMac lacks the necessary drivers for newer OS releases. If you need something affordable and compatible, check out budget-friendly options like the TP-Link TL-WA120 or similar models designed for macOS Ventura. Always verify compatibility before purchasing.

Have you checked AliExpress? There are various types of WiFi adapters available, ranging from very basic to more advanced options. Prices are generally affordable too.

I prefer not to purchase from Aliexpress due to extended delivery periods and a greater risk of fraud. While I acknowledge scams exist on other platforms like Amazon and Newegg, the likelihood is significantly lower.

Find a Broadcom chipset card that works with macOS. OCLP can share a list of compatible models using the built-in slot, avoiding USB adapters. Updated July 8, 2024 by NF-A12x25

It might not function properly. You've tried several Broadcom models before, and opening the iMac repeatedly has become frustrating. You're not keen on repeating that process.

I understand, they really aren't great, huh? Sorry, I didn't post an update. After undoing and redoing the Root Patching in OpenCore, the existing adapter worked again—patched drivers were installed via Ethernet and the WiFi card functioned properly. It's quite slow, possibly due to outdated drivers or age, but it works for me. Thanks for your help and advice!
