As mentioned in the title, I’m unable to start Windows. While playing Skyrim for about half an hour, it started running in the background due to a friend’s Discord stream. When I returned, the game felt slow and I couldn’t close it using alt-F4 or even alt-tab. I attempted to restart by pressing alt-CTRL-del, but the PC didn’t respond anymore, so I turned it off with the power button. After rebooting, the BIOS booted up, and I saw that the "Samsung M2nve SSD" wasn’t listed in the boot order, though the device was detected and visible in flash mode. I updated the BIOS, but nothing changed. I’m seeking help from others. Thanks.

CPU Intel i7-12700K, MOBO MSI Z690 Tomahawk, RAM Corsair (2x16)32 GB DDR5, GPU MSI RTX 3080 Gaming Z, PSU Corsair HX1200, SSD M.2 Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB

Seems like someone might face a difficult choice—committing seppuku.

It likely happened that way. This matches the "read-only" scenario you mentioned. Appreciate the details!
