Windows Vista is an operating system developed by Microsoft.
Consider this way: would you prefer A: a system that is secure and functions exactly as intended, no matter your computer skills B: an OS that removes features for faster performance, uses more resources, sacrifices security, and has a less intuitive GUI—especially for beginners Edit: By the way, do you really enjoy Windows 2K? I think it’s worse than ME (which needs constant defragmentation) and far behind XP.
Vista shares similarities with Windows 8 in terms of facing criticism; both have unresolved issues despite fixes. Many people focus on what went wrong during their initial release, even though both are functional operating systems. I personally used Vista for several years before switching to 7 and don’t recall anything overly negative. XP seemed more problematic in my opinion. Regarding the user... there’s no downgrading from Windows 10 back to Vista, only to 7. It should generally work with most current applications.
It's just that the first computer I had was from 2000. It feels nostalgic, but I don't miss it much. Plus, the startup sound was far better than in later Windows releases.
I received that—it sounds like it has a better startup tone. (I was checking it on my Dual Pentium III machine, which is right next to me, and I was thinking about installing ME, though there’s a limitation of just being able to use one Pentium III.)
