My PC has once again chosen to restart itself for Windows updates (I genuinely dislike this! Usually I have a video playing in the background so it doesn’t do this, but it seems like I missed that one time). Anyway, a quick question: does Windows also store backups of non-major updates? Just to be sure. I’m planning to replace my SSD for games and will move most of the space-consuming files there. Is there any permanent way to prevent Windows from forcing a reset? I’d like to do it myself instead of letting them handle it. It really makes me miss 7.

Start at the beginning, adjust settings, update, security. Go to advanced options, remove all three, then verify the fourth.

After seeing quite a few recent windows updates messing with peoples PC's im very reluctant to do it (they may be far and few in between but im still weary) I had to even revert back from 1909 to an older version because i kept BSOD'ing. It's prompted me again that i can install 1909 so i assume the issues fixed and i might do it when the SSD arrives but i was also thinking of just waiting for the first 2020 update (which should help with some of the refresh rate issues with dual monitors, an update im really excited for!) May have to get ccleaner, it has been a while since ive used an app like it. Already done that but thanks.

Run Disk Cleanup to delete outdated updates. Be sure to select "clean up system files" when you first pick the drive for scanning. This can provide some relief, though it might not solve everything completely.
