Windows update problems persist again in the boot partition.
So...my computer completed the regular Windows 10 update without warning, all night long. What changed was that my boot partition got corrupted. I’m curious if others have faced this issue. My tech-savvy dad helped me recover by using Dell tools and troubleshooting steps. The Windows recovery options didn’t work this time. Will we ever be able to say anything positive about Windows 10 Home, or are we just being tested? I was a month past my warranty, and even then, Dell wouldn’t provide phone support unless you paid $120 to $365 for coverage. I needed guidance through non-Windows recovery methods, and it was worth sharing if it helps. Honestly, my mind is really tired today—way too many nerves.
Ah yes, 'cause Windows 7 has never been known to have problems after updates... https://duckduckgo.com/?q=windows+7+sp1+...amp;ia=web Windows Update has always been trash, it's only associated with Windows 10 because of autoupdates and people looking for any reason to cling on to the OS they're used to.
Well, I could delay the Windows 7 updates and I was simply more at ease with the interface (and fewer ads) in my Windows 7 setup. It's entirely reasonable to say that I'm so far apart from it that it might just be me "remembering only the positive moments" with Windows 7. Edit: I also really miss Command & Conquer games, along with many others that don't work on Windows 10 and its lack of DRM support. Though that's more the responsibility of the developers who made the games, at least. Edited July 17, 2019 by Deadrewski
