Hey there, I just got the Kernel Patch update (KB4056892) but keep facing the same problem. After several tries to install, I’m stuck with the error 0x800f081f. I turned off my antivirus (Avast AV) and it still happens. I’ve noticed the update progress looks like this: 'Installing: 24%' → 'Installing: 0%' → 'Installing: 68%' → 'Installing: 100%'. Once it hits 100%, the system crashes with that error. Anyone experienced with this issue? Do you have any suggestions or fixes?

Direct from Mickeysoft... Welcome to the Microsoft Community. Thank you for your interest in Windows 10. You can resolve some issues using a built-in troubleshooter that automatically fixes common Windows Update problems. After completing this, verify if you can access the Store. Launch the Windows Update troubleshooter by these steps: Press the Windows key + X and select Control Panel. Go to Troubleshooting and choose View All. Select the “Windows Update” troubleshooter to address updates-related issues. Follow the on-screen instructions to run it and restart your computer to see if it helps. This should be useful—please let us know if you need more help. We’re here to assist. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/wind...bcae4b0c5d

You're welcome! I was the first to respond. Even before Microsoft helped out on their forums, people had reached out for assistance.

Hey, following the issues from 'Meltdown' and 'Spectre', Microsoft dropped build #16299.192 (KB4056892). It fixes the 'Meldown' problem and should install on its own. After multiple attempts with Windows 10 troubleshooter, the update keeps failing with codes 0x800f081f or 0x8024a105. I've also tried switching connections and disabling AV software without success. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Execute the updater troubleshooter. In the worst scenario, reinstall Windows or perform a repair.

Restart the installation with the media creation utility. The issues I faced were resolved after reinstalling Windows. You can choose to delete every installed program while keeping your files intact.

Please avoid reinstalling Windows 10 if it's not necessary.

If you haven't given it a shot, consider trying the dism tool https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/7808...image.html. Also, verify that any anti-Windows 10 spying software is turned off, since they can disrupt updates completely.
