I've been working with Windows for a while and haven't faced this problem before. It happened on my main laptop (HP Pavilion 15-cs2073cl) running Windows 11. After restarting, I tried to install KB5029263 but got the error "We couldn't install complete the updates undoing changes." When checking the installed updates, it said everything was already there! How can I prevent Windows Update from stopping the download? I've already tried restarting the service, using the troubleshooter, running the system file checker, and the installation assistant. Help needed!

I repeated the Windows update troubleshooter and reset the Windows Update files via CMD. This helped install KB5029263 correctly. But when I tried KB5031354 the same, I got an error saying "We couldn't complete the updates undoing changes" and it indicated the update was already installed. To fix this, I used the troubleshooter, installed directly, reset files with CMD, and restarted the Windows Update service along with related services. It's quite frustrating with Windows 11. Most businesses still use Windows 10, while my main PC runs Windows 7.

I managed to set up KB5031354 and some additional patches, yet KB5033375 fails to install and displays the "We couldn't complete the updates undoing changes" message. It suggests an issue might be on my side affecting the process.

Review the file at C:\Windows\Logs\WindowsUpdate to find the information you need.

You're encountering issues because the ETL files are likely too large or complex for basic text editors like Notepad and Notepad++. Try using specialized tools such as Excel, Python scripts, or dedicated ETL software to process them effectively.

They would utilize PerfView for that purpose.

I saved the Windows 11 ISO file from Microsoft’s site and everything functioned properly. No issues encountered, aside from needing to remove unnecessary components. https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11

It's oddly amusing after all these years... Microsoft hasn't managed to implement *automatic* updates yet.
