My Windows Vista machine is experiencing issues with Windows Update. I've faced the same situation in Windows 7 before. Whenever I try to run the update, it just freezes. Any solutions you have?

I wasn't aware they continued providing updates for Vista. Frequent hangs occur because of network problems, often caused by another device consuming bandwidth. A possible solution is to revert using Windows restore, disable AV and Steam, and attempt the update late at night. Additionally, ensure your hard drive has sufficient spare space.

Windows Vista remains compatible for another four months (though I question if Microsoft actually provides updates for Vista). Because my OptiPlex lacks Wi-Fi, I’m connecting via MacBook and an Ethernet cable, so I could attempt a direct modem connection tomorrow.
