Windows Update frequently halts and freezes.
I built a temporary server from my old gaming setup to host games for friends... but every time Microsoft pushes an update, it interrupts me. It keeps demanding the Windows 10 1709 feature update, but each time it forces a restart around the 33% to 75% mark. Once it locks up, I have to force a hard reset, which only delays the process—sometimes it hits 81% and freezes, refusing to move. Eventually, I’m forced to reset again and then repair Windows. It keeps looping until I finally get it running once more. What options do I have?
I believe this could be an update for the Intel security feature. The i5-2400 model is quite outdated, so this might not be ideal.
You need to access the Start Menu. Then tap on the Settings option. After that, select Update and security, and choose Recovery settings. Click the Get started button near Go back to an earlier build section. The system will begin, and it will prompt you with a few questions to gather details about why you’re reverting to a previous Windows 10 version.
