It’s possible to disable it during initial setup. You generally need to rely on Microsoft to follow the configurations. It’s helpful to eliminate all tracking data completely.

You might want to test Spybot Anti-Beacon. It performed excellently on Windows 8 – see the link for details.

I recently attempted to reduce Windows size and discovered a YouTube creator who provided useful guidance. The link points to an updated website for 2021. He created a PowerShell script for simple removal tasks, such as deleting telemetry data and uninstalling unnecessary applications. For a more detailed approach, the Sophia script from GitHub offers a comprehensive solution, though it requires careful selection of options. This helped me eliminate my phone and all unused Xbox apps that were no longer useful.

Here are the suggestions you mentioned: free tools that work well. The first one unlocks and hides windows with a clean interface. The second offers similar functionality plus program installation via Chocolatey. ChrisTitus' win10script is advanced but hasn't been tried yet. farag2' Windows-10-Sophia-Script (formerly known as Setup script)
