Windows to Go offers dual booting with Windows 10 and Windows to Go corruption.
Hey guys Here is a little bit of backstory: I have a School laptop with Windows 10 on its main ssd. And i also bought an external Hdd just for some extra storage Lately i wanted to start playing some games on this laptop (but i cant really install anything because it has admin protections and my school has the password for it. other than that it has a lot of plugins that protect it from doing a lot of things) at this moment i thought: lets install windows to go on my external hdd and boot from there so that i have my own copy of windows that i can use on this laptop (i dont have any others pc's i can use so i had to do it this way) everything seems fine as i install discord, steam and stuff like that. At some point i decided to boot from my original ssd with the school's installation of windows 10 (just had to look for something) after doing what i had to do i switched back on my windows to go installation, and here is where hell began. i couldn't start windows to go because it was missing a file (error code: 0xc0000011) after that i tried to boot windows 10 from my school's ssd, i haven't even made it up to the boot that i already got a BSOD (error code: NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM), windows rebooted and tried to fix itself with "System restore" i waited for around 2 hours and nothing happened. the next day i turned my laptop on and windows managed it to fix itself At this point im wondering what could ever "corrupt" 2 operating systems at once, i mean was it my fault or something? I tried to look for something similar online and i found out that having fast boot activated on a multiboot system can couse something like that, the thing is that windows to go does not have the option to turn off fast boot. If i try again to run windows 10 and windows to go is it going to currupt again or was it just a coincidence?
