It seemed like a rather disappointing April Fools' joke, but the release date was too late—this KB article came out on March 27th. Initially, people thought it was a clever prank, only to realize Microsoft didn’t seem interested in reaching their audience. It felt like a missed opportunity to drive traffic, especially since we were hoping for more engagement. I guess we should continue searching, but maybe with a bit less enthusiasm? Thanks for reading! TL;DR: sneakers are coming.
Excited to try it out! I haven’t used Windows 10 yet, but I’m hearing positive reviews. I’m hoping it works well.
I tested the first couple versions and really enjoyed what I saw. If the bugs are fixed, it’ll be a great OS. Also, I read this all...is it really important? The whole idea is that certain files contain GWX, which naturally has a 'W' and 'X'. Nice detective work!
It seems kb2990214 is now marked as an essential update for this month, April 2015, even if you haven’t opted in. This means it will install automatically when your system enables automatic Windows updates. The situation is getting more intense: Microsoft’s support page urges you to upgrade to their OS without revealing the cost. Head over to the link for details. Time to consider Red Hat options?
