Hello everyone, sorry for the interruption. I really need assistance. My ASUS TUF Dash F15 FX516PR is connected via USB-C to HDMI adapter (QDOS) and works fine when using it as an external display. However, whenever I try to link to my external monitor through USB-C to HDMI, the system detects a new display and freezes immediately afterward. This happens even though the HDMI cable is plugged in and the computer runs smoothly on other devices. I’ve noticed that the USB-C hub can support multiple devices without issues, but it stops working when an HDMI cable is connected. I’ve tested various hubs and TVs, yet they all function properly with different setups. I also tried a clean Windows reinstall, updated drivers in Device Manager, used Intel driver support, and adjusted display settings. Still, the crashes occur if the USB-C to HDMI connection is pre-set. I’m unsure what else to try and hope for a response. Thank you for your help.

Sure, you can try turning off all USB devices except the display adapter and running a diagnostic to check for any issues.

If the screen is a gaming monitor, disable FPS overclocking. Also adjust Windows display settings to 60Hz.

Thanks for the try, but even without a full port or all ports occupied, the system won't crash unless the device isn't connected to an HDMI port

Thanks for the tip, but your setup uses the usual 60Hz display settings on Windows.

I wasn't able to resolve it. It seems the issue might be linked to a Windows update.

I created an account just to mention the recurring issue over the past few days. I performed a full reset of Windows 11, updated all drivers, and tried troubleshooting extensively. The laptop still fails to connect an HDMI cable to the USB-C dock, which is a completely new problem. If anyone can identify the cause, please share it!

Hello, do you know if anyone has had similar problems? I'm anticipating the same situation here...

Just a quick note for everyone (though I thought I’d shared this long ago) After talking with ASUS and going through the repair/return steps, it turned out the problem was linked to those specific settings. The board design and Windows 11’s handling of over-current allowed it to happen. Still, ASUS handled everything well—definitely worth my money back and a 10% discount for their store. Thanks for your patience and apologies for the delay.
