I recently replaced my graphics card with an RTX 2070 Super, but I'm experiencing unusually slow startup times. My motherboard boots up quickly, yet Windows 10 takes a long time to initialize (it just loops the loading screen). After reinstalling Windows 10, updating the Nvidia drivers, and ensuring everything runs smoothly under heavy use, the boot duration varies—sometimes taking up to 10 minutes, other times as little as 5 minutes. Previously, the PC would boot in just a few seconds. I suspect the problem might be related to my power supply, as it’s only a 500W 80+ Bronze unit, which is close to the power requirements for my system. I’m considering upgrading to a 650W or 750W fully modular PSU, but for now I’d prefer to avoid long waits each time I power on.

System details:
- CPU: Intel i7-8700k (stock speeds)
- Cooling: AiO motherboard
- RAM: 4 x 4GB DDR4 2133 HyperX Fury, overclocked to 2600Mhz
- Power supply: EVGA 500W Bronze 80+
- Storage: SATA M.2 SSD 128GB, SATA 2.5" SSD 500GB, two 3.5" HDDs (500GB & 1TB)
- Lighting: RGB strips with controller, 3 x 120mm fans

I recently tested the performance of this setup, and since the issue began, all components are functioning normally or improving. I’m happy to share more details if needed. Thank you for your attention.

Can you test the graphics card on a different machine? Do you still have the previous model for comparison? Upgrades shouldn't impact boot times, and the power consumption during startup remains relatively low.

I don’t have a complete system to test the card, but I do have the old one, so I can swap them and check boot times. During troubleshooting I managed to start with just integrated graphics, but it didn’t make much difference. I plan to test the other card tomorrow afternoon to see if it helps. The card functions fine once booted, which is great. Really happy with the frames!

Have you received any pending Windows updates? On my work machine I experienced the same problem, caused by a failed Windows 10 update that repeatedly attempted reinstallation. At one point it even froze my computer, requiring nearly three hours of inactivity before the update ceased or resolved itself. (It's a work-issued device, so I can't examine the details.) It would be worth checking.

Your setup should comfortably handle the load, even with modest CPU and GPU overclocking. Under normal gaming conditions you’ll draw under 300W from the PSU, while the wall outlet will handle more. Could you share the exact model of your EVGA 500W Bronze 80+ unit? A 750W unit would be ideal for a fully overclocked rig with two RTX 2070S graphics cards.

I don't think that my power supply is sold by EVGA anymore, but it's extremely similar to this , here's the product on the page I bought it. Also, according to MSI, my card, the MSI RTX 2070S Gaming Trio (8GB) , has a power consumption of 215W. 215W is a substantial amount... Thank you for your reply.
