Windows shifts focus to secondary screen once it powers off.
Hi. I have a triple monitor setup so therefor I have different windows open on different displays. Here's a picture of the setup: There's just one small and really annoying problem: Whenever I wake the PC from sleep the windows all the windows that were on Display 1 has moved to Display 2. The windows on Display 2 and 3 has stayed where they should. After doing some digging I found someone talking about Displayport is sending signals to the PC about when the display is turned off. Display 2 and 3 is running with HDMI and Display 1 is connected with Displayport. So I did a test: I first turned off Display 2 and nothing happened. Then I turned Display 1 off and sure enough all the windows on Display 1 moved to Display 2. So here's my question: Is there any way to make so that windows doesn't get moved when Display 1 is turned off? I can't just connect it with HDMI as my graphics card only has 2 HDMI outputs and the other 2 is Displayport.
Well... The issue is these three screens aren't identical. The first one uses an IPS panel, the second is a basic TN panel, and changing one won't solve the problem because it could affect the other two as well.
You could also keep the computer running, as it uses minimal power when idle. Just switch on a blank screensaver or turn off the monitors after a while. Windows can be tricky with multiple displays, and sometimes these issues aren't fixed with standard troubleshooting. In most cases, you just need to patch the problem—something typical for unusual screen configurations.
