Windows setup is blank – installation failed.
I faced some difficulties with my PC for about ten days due to a short in the motherboard from improper standoff placement. I planned a fresh Windows install because the last one wouldn’t boot (just a blank screen after the splash). I made a bootable USB with MediaCreationTool and inserted it, but when I tried to set up from USB, the setup window disappeared, leaving only a blank purple screen with no cursor. I also attempted another USB using Rufus on a different stick, but the problem persisted. Both USBs function correctly on other devices. While troubleshooting the motherboard, I turned the PC on and off repeatedly to see if it was dead. Could this have caused damage that affected the installation? I can boot Ubuntu from my secondary drive, so the issue seems limited to Windows install media.
