This habit bothers me a lot. It's not about startup apps either. For example, Firefox runs while I use Firefox, but when I restart the computer it launches Firefox again, as if to pick up where I left off. How can I stop this? I really dislike it. I close Windows to save system resources for gaming, yet it still starts something completely random. That’s exactly what I want to avoid.

Navigate to Settings > Sign-in options and disable the option that says "Use my sign-in info to automatically finish setting up my device after an update or restart."

they begin automatically when the system launches. you can turn this off via Windows settings or within the program's own configuration.

Yes, you may need to restart the system for driver installations that don’t finish automatically after a reboot.

I saw Firefox doing the same on my PC too. It works quite well, especially because I keep it running. However, it seems to activate around 80-90% of the time; I never turn it off completely (I don’t want to lose the 5 windows and over 50 tabs I have open). I’m not sure why this happens, but I thought others might be experiencing the same thing. It probably isn’t related to Windows, since Firefox isn’t a program that starts up automatically.

Windows logs you in automatically after a Windows update. This doesn't stop drivers from installing or completing this browser setting. Removing Firefox as a restartable app from Mozilla settings. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fir...art-window Windows quick startup restores where you left off during shutdown/reboot https://www.howtogeek.com/243901/the-pro...rtup-mode/
