Windows recommends upgrading to version 11 - Ryzen 5800x
Previously I thought Microsoft hadn't resolved the problems with Windows 11 on Ryzen processors, like the lagging and scheduler issues. But yesterday the 'Upgrade to Windows 11' screen appeared. Does this indicate that all major issues are fixed? Honestly, I don't really like the new look, though I don't dislike it either. It's just a bit "meh," but I might get used to it. Any insights on this? Your specs are a Ryzen 5800x, Gigabyte X570 Master, 32GB RAM at 3600MHz.
Ryzen issues were fixed months ago. I've daily driven it on two machines for months, there are no massive bugs that people like to report on. Its fine. I never had any major issues, truth be told. Lots of hysterics out there. Don't upgrade, wipe your drive and install fresh. If you don't have an interest in new software and don't already know why you want want to install Win 11, don't bother, there is nothing to gain. I did because I like new things, like to tinker and have the ability to troubleshoot when things go wrong.
Ensure the operating system remains unchanged unless there are clear justifications. Wait for sufficient reasons to modify before proceeding.
It shows Microsoft is ready to release the update right away. No further details needed. I haven’t encountered any problems with Ryzen since the launch, and my own machine has been smooth. Unless you’re eager to switch to Windows 11, there’s no compelling reason to upgrade. It feels like a refreshed version of Windows 10 with more modern, rounded designs.
Thanks guys, I got the answer I needed. BTW, I installed 11 on my 8th gen i5 laptop pretty early on to test and didn't really see much of a difference either. As far as I was concerned, it was 10 with a new "mixed-bag" interface. Like I said, didn't hate it but was kinda "meh". Plus, I miss a couple of quality-of-life features that 11 lack. Truth be told, I'm past my tinkering days on my main machine (for that I have my laptops), just like it has been ages since I last installed a custom ROM on my phone (ah, the OnePlus One era...)
