Each time I open or close PUBG, the Anti Malware Service executable runs and uses up the CPU, causing the game to load very slowly. I've added its folder and executable files to the exception list, but it doesn't work. Any ideas?

Using a different antivirus for testing purposes. Results may vary depending on system settings. See the comparison links for details. Updated April 10, 2020 by captain_to_fire

Windows AV offers basic defense but can feel overly powerful at times. My path started with F-Secure, moved to Norton, then McAfee, TrendMicro, AVG, AVAST, and now ESET. The reason for changing was often the inclusion of unnecessary software that hindered gaming. So far, ESET has kept me satisfied. I've been using it since summer 2016. The user interface isn't very smooth, but it functions well and their internet security pricing isn't terrible—though they don’t offer a free plan. From a gaming standpoint, it had the least impact so far.
