Yesterday on my older PC, I executed an automatic batch file multiple times using Defraggler for defragmentation, followed by a cleanup with sdelet64 from Sysinternals. After sleeping in, the next day I noticed remnants of the Windows installation still present. It seemed to have disappeared completely, leaving no traces. I suspected a missing boot manager or empty partitions, but there were none. What might have happened? I only intended to clear free space without affecting the entire drive, yet even partial attempts failed to restore it. Could recovery be worthwhile, or should I consider a fresh installation?
