Hi there, your setup has three SATA drives—two 4TB HDDs and one 120GB SSD. After adding a third 2TB HDD, it disappears from the main system but appears when you disconnect one of the HDDs. Your cold storage system runs an i5 4690k Z97M with 8GB DDR3 RAM, two 4TB WD Blue drives and a 120GB Samsung 750 Evo SSD. The issue seems to be with the third drive not showing up in your main system. Try checking the drive connections or formatting the third HDD if needed.

Is the device visible in Disk Management or Device Manager despite not appearing in File Explorer? Have you set unique drive letters for each storage device to ensure they remain distinct?

Yes, you can modify the lettering while preserving all data.
