I was browsing YouTube when my audio stopped working for a moment, then the screen turned blue and froze. When I power on my PC, it takes me straight into the Windows installation screen. I just got this PC about three months ago and I’m really not keen on buying new components. Also, whenever I try to reinstall Windows, I run into an error that prevents me from installing Windows 10 again.

I don’t have access to your system details, but please share the error code or message you’re seeing. If you’re encountering a Blue Screen of Death, let me know the specific text displayed. Have you considered using the Windows Repair tool?

Based on my observations, modern blue screen messages often don't provide useful information. You should check for memory dumps first—most issues are detected there. If the problem is software-related, it will appear in the dump file. A missing dump usually points to a hardware fault. I recommend starting with a memory test or scanning the OS drive for errors. If you're worried about hardware damage and think reinstalling might be pointless, try installing the OS on a different drive or using an external USB drive to run it. Updated May 26, 2022 by Otomaru

Sorry for the delayed response. When I power on my PC, it displays the Windows installation screen. It didn’t crash or wipe data—it just blue-screened, then restarted. After restarting, the screen shows the Windows setup again. I can’t reinstall Windows because it lists four different drives and I’m unsure what any of them are. I handed this machine off to a repair shop when I first built it, and now I’m stuck trying to fix it myself. The issue keeps coming up, and I’m considering taking it back for further assistance.
