Windows Installer fails to detect SSD devices.
Received this laptop without an operating system. It’s an Asus VivoBook S 14" S433EQ with an Intel SSD that supports 512GB storage and recognizes the SSD. I can install Linux and format the drive easily, but the owner wants Windows installed. The issue is that when trying to set up Windows, the installer can’t locate the SSD, not even in the GUI or CMD. No one seems to know what could help. I’ve updated drivers using a USB stick, but it still doesn’t detect the SSD, preventing installation.
When Windows Installer fails to recognize my SSD, I remove it and connect it to a test system. I run a partitioning tool on the test machine to eliminate the Linux setup. I’m using the free MiniTool Partition utility. My idea is that the Linux filesystem might be interfering with the installer.
