Hey there. I’m really struggling right now. I had a 7800x3d and recently got a 9800x3d to help someone else, but the upgrade didn’t go well. My NVMe drives stopped working after the switch. Even after reseating the CPU multiple times and cleaning everything, nothing shows up in BIOS anymore. The drives are fine when I move them to an external case on another machine. Everything’s functioning properly then.
I’ve tried everything—no partitions, no errors, just total failure. The BIOS only sees my main drive and the SSD through SATA, not the Crucial or the NVMe cards. On the Crucial, Windows installs randomly and fails. I checked the settings, reset the BIOS, updated slowly, but it keeps crashing.
My motherboard is new, the CPU is brand new, and the NVMe drives work perfectly outside of my setup. I’m really confused and need urgent assistance. Please help me out—I’m at my limit.
Reviewing the guide, it highlights the need for rubber backing on the motherboard beneath the NVME drives to provide insulation. Are you applying those pads? It might just be that the Samsung pads are thicker or causing a short circuit. That seems unusual, though the manual strongly recommends using them.
I didn't really see that. I can include those. I actually possess a few small rubber tips that came with the board. But the NVME drives didn't function properly on the 7800x3d.
I switched to a 2.5in SSD instead of NVMe, and the system now starts Windows smoothly. Still, I can’t use any NVMe features without freezing. When playing games, once they load past the main menu, the computer just restarts. I haven’t found anything in Event Viewer either.
