The installation process indicates it couldn't form a fresh partition or find an existing one.

Ensure the incorrect drivers are removed from your BIOS/UEFI settings. Download the necessary "Inf drivers" from the provided link: http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/H97%20Pro...&os=Win764. Confirm you're running Windows 7 64-bit, not 32-bit—this was a minor issue for me, but it's worth verifying.

I simply get the INF drivers, connect them using the same USB that runs Windows 7, insert the device, and then choose to load the drivers with INF options.

Download the file and place it on the USB flash drive. Load the drivers, then navigate to the extracted folder on the drive. Select the appropriate option (likely "OK").

No drivers for new devices were detected. Ensure the installation media includes the appropriate ones. That’s confirmed now. I retrieved the ones you mentioned.

It doesn't function because no signed device drivers were detected. Verify the installation media includes the appropriate drivers.

Are you certain the device uses USB 3.0? Verify you’re connected via a USB 2.0 port. [edit] Oops, sorry, didn’t catch that. You mentioned “no signed drivers.” Let me look it up. But yes, remember Windows 7 doesn’t support USB 3.0 by default.

It seems unusual to investigate this. Have you updated your BIOS/UEFI? There might be an issue with the current version that affects how Windows installs.

It might seem unusual, but it’s worth a shot (the issue stems from a Windows 7 setup glitch, and this approach could help): http://www.sevenforums.com/installation-...found.html If it functions, it should be done just once. On the next Windows 7 reinstall, the problem likely won’t return.
