Hello everyone, I have GTAV installed on my SEC hard drive. When I start playing, I notice frequent stutters and the CPU usage stays low, only fluctuating between 0% and 5%. The stutters seem to happen whenever the game starts. I checked the hard drive and found that it's always at full capacity during gameplay, which might be causing the issues. Windows HDD doesn't have the game installed, yet performance drops. PC: 1 - i5 2400 2 - gtx 1650 Super 3 - 4 GB RAM (many people play GTAV without problems!). Note: Sorry for my poor English!

4GB of RAM paired with 64-bit Windows? Using traditional HDDs instead of SSDs might cause performance issues while running GTA V. You can check this in Task Manager, specifically under the processes section, and see if "Page Faults" for GTA rises. Increasing page faults point to the problem. The fix could be adding more RAM or switching to an SSD for Windows, or simply adjusting the pagefile location.

The issue is resolved. You require additional memory.

Consider keeping your pagefile intact by ensuring it remains unbroken. Skip regular defragmentation tools; instead, disable the pagefile entirely, restart in safe mode, and perform a complete defrag on the hard drive. Afterward, rebuild the pagefile so it stays together. This approach typically avoids future issues. For long-term prevention, choose a static size like 16384MB or higher, but only apply this to HDDs—not SSDs!

You're asking if moving the page file to the faster SSD would help improve performance. It could potentially make a difference, but it depends on your specific setup and usage patterns. Consider testing both scenarios to see which one gives you better speeds.

The disk is moving slowly... shifting it to a faster one could help, though GTA might have issues. It's worth a try? Think about using an SSD for the Windows drive, or at least a small, inexpensive SSD as a pagefile (you can find 32GB models under $10, and while they're not top speed, they perform better than a 60MB/s HDD).
