Over the last year, since upgrading my computer, Windows has occasionally stopped working properly. It might happen once a day or once a month, but it keeps occurring. I can move my mouse, but I can't use anything and have to turn off my PC manually. This happens while watching YouTube, during team meetings, using Word, and even when playing games. Recently, I've experienced more frequent freezes, and I managed to recreate the issue. While updating a Hoyoverse game on their launcher, it would freeze every 10 minutes or so. After shutting it down, I tried again but got the same result. This was the first time it occurred during that update. Recently, I upgraded my storage and moved files from an older hard drive to a Gen 3 Sabrent Rocket Q NVMe and a 2TB SK Hynix P41 SSD. Here are my details: Ryzen 5600X, Gigabyte B550 M.PSU, RTX 3060, Gigabyte Eagle 12GB, 500GB, Gen 3 Sabrent Rocket Q NVMe (Windows & drivers), 2TB SK Hynix P41 (games), 1TB Crucial MX500 SATA (files), 4x8GB DDR4 3200MHz Corsair LX series memory, Deepcool AK500 CPU cooler, semi-modular Focus GM Seasonic 750W PSU. I've already updated chipset drivers and BIOS, reset my RAM, turned off XMP and resized BAR, and removed bloatware (ICUE, Gigabyte Aorus, RGB, Gigabyte app center) without success. At this point, I'm unsure—maybe a PSU issue? Could it be because I don't have a Windows key? Or could Windows 11 help? Please share an Event Viewer screenshot for assistance.

The two major alerts came during my hands-on shutdown of the computer after it stalled during a game update.

I upgraded from a basic version to a more advanced one, specifically improving its functionality and performance.

Are those many hardware updates? Are we still using the same Windows version? If so, it’s likely there will be driver issues. You’ll need to reinstall Windows completely and begin again.

I'm testing the update again with HWinfo enabled to check for unusual behavior. I'm observing power reporting deviations, averaging 149% with a maximum of 180%. It's unclear if this is related to the issue.

I performed a new Windows setup and reinstalled all drivers, but I lost my Windows key after selling my previous components.

You can request a hardware update and regain your Windows license through your Microsoft account. However, this won’t resolve the problem you’re experiencing.

No clear patterns detected before shutdowns. No single error consistently appears prior to each stop.

Beyond what’s visible in the screenshot before the second shutdown, I haven’t observed any additional issues. The majority of problems usually emerge after a restart, and only a short period before freezing appears no other activity.
