Hello, let me share what happened recently so you understand clearly: ICUE didn’t get updated, and this issue somehow spread through Windows updates. It slowed down the system and often caused crashes—sometimes the PC wouldn’t respond at all, even though I could move the mouse. The taskbar became unusable. I resolved it by reinstalling ICUE. When a new update came, the problems returned, mainly freezing of programs (the mouse moved smoothly but I couldn’t click). It seems the core issue is likely related to ICUE itself, but why am I stuck updating it? The error message reads: “unable to update the software.” Also, my PC uses an HDD instead of an M.2 drive—HDDs can sometimes trigger these kinds of problems.

I explored related subjects on Reddit, noticing similar issues; it appears the root lies in initial assumptions. Updating remains challenging.

I don't know, I don't have experience with ICUE software. But what I can say, is what I would do is simple: Uninstall ICUE software, and install the latest version. You might loose your profiles, but that is the solution. Or you can contact ICUE support, report the problem, and wait for them to issue a fix to their updater.
