You've just acquired a new 4K monitor and are curious about which Windows version works best for it. The scaling issue mainly depends on how well each OS handles resolution adjustments. Generally, Windows 10 and 11 offer better native support for 4K displays compared to older versions, while some lightweight versions may struggle with performance or compatibility.

The issue lies elsewhere, in the apps not adapting to the OS.

Get version 8.1 now, then upgrade at no cost to 10 when it launches.
