Hey everyone, the issue is installing Windows 10 correctly on my Acer Aspire E5-572G laptop. I've tried the usual fixes like formatting the drive before installation. After a year of use, I had to reinstall Windows properly without too much trouble, but this time it didn't work. I've used two different external DVD drives, but neither one is recognized—one is quite old and the other is extremely outdated. I turned off Secure Boot and enabled legacy support, but even with a USB stick, it still doesn’t boot. Now I'm using Windows in legacy mode, which required cleaning the disk partition first before formatting. Now when I try to reinstall in UEFI mode, the system can't find the USB drive.

The USB drive must include a GPT partition table to work properly in UEFI mode.

Diskpart or diskmgmt.msc can provide this information. Simply boot from a new W10 ISO using Rufus, ensuring it's configured for UEFI startup.

Additionally, you'll notice the settings to choose UEFI or GPT appear in the dropdown lists... still Rufus – Make bootable USB drives effortlessly

Yeah, i converted to gpt and now waiting for the iso to be done on the usb. Still not working to boot, i do believe the bios is not detecting the usb even if its converted to gpt. The list in bios is usb- fdd, -hdd, - cdrom and atapi cdrom, as well hdd and the 2 types of network boot. using windows 7 usb drive tool, gonna try with rufus instead Edited September 17, 2018 by PBDrayne

The issue has been resolved using Rufus for booting from a USB drive. The previous problem involved the hard drive being labeled incorrectly as 'gpt' instead of 'mgr'. After cleaning and converting the disk to GPT format, the installation is now working properly.
