Windows Defender doesn't recognize the file as altered and marks it as a virus.
I ran a scan using Windows Defender on my entire system. It detected around 40 viruses, which surprised me a bit. Eventually I understood it was a Kali ISO file from my downloads folder—definitely containing malicious software. I removed it and expected everything to be clean now. A follow-up scan revealed another virus or trojan. It turned out to be a Minecraft mod mistakenly labeled as a virus. I deleted it and cleared the Windows trash bin. In theory, I shouldn’t have it installed anymore, but it still appears in Defender. I suspect the deletion was manual, which might be why it persists. I’m unsure what to do next.
