Hey, are there any free players available for Bluray playback? I've used VLC and MPC, but VLC struggles with DTS HD sounds and some discs don't work with MPC.

PowerDVD functions well, though at a cost. Potplayer is rumored to work with Blu-ray and is free, but since it comes from the creators of KMplayer, I suspect OpenCandy and similar issues may exist.

I spent much of the past year trying to find the optimal method for playing blurays on Windows. Eventually, I realized I could have simply purchased PowerDvd. The only free option I discovered was using MakeMKV to convert the files, then viewing them as MKV on my PC. I still enjoy converting for personal use on my phone or tablet, but if I need immediate access without waiting hours, PowerDVD seems more convenient. I regret not buying it sooner.
