Consider using a Linux live CD if possible. I’ve experienced issues with bad RAM before, and I almost lost my hair trying to fix it. A faulty memory module might prevent you from accessing Linux at all.

If this involves memory issues, I wouldn't assume the MBR fix would get me into Windows. After running those commands, everything works until I power off, unless it's some strange behavior hiding itself.

RAM might be triggering unexpected problems. Fixing the MBR shouldn't stop access to Windows if the issue was originally due to RAM, but it isn't working now. I'm considering a false positive on the SSD or corrupted data inside Windows as possible causes.

It seems the MBR might be failing in that sector. I own an Adata SSD, which I’ve always been skeptical about, but there’s a decent price on a Samsung Evo 970 for $180.
