Windows blocks the installation drive from being viewed.
Hey there! I assisted my mom's friend with purchasing a laptop and it’s not installing Windows properly. I changed the USB port where the flash drive connects, tried the Intel RST drivers, but they keep refusing to work. The laptop is an ASUS X515EA, and the drive is listed in the BIOS as an NVMe SSD. Could you help me out? Thanks a lot!
I've faced similar scenarios before and they tend to vary. A USB2.0 drive is often needed for certain devices. The UEFI Windows 10 installer is essential now for most modern systems. If your device came with FreeDOS, you may need to format the disk using DiskPart. You might also have to connect through a particular USB port.
Also, I attempted to change all three USB ports without any results so far. I also cleared the installation USB and am starting over with the Windows installer, hoping that fixes things xDD
Thanks, it's really frustrating... Not sure what freedos is, but it only showed up in the bios
