I faced the same problem with the MSI B550-A pro MB and a M.2 SSD. It turned out the BIOS date was odd (shown as 8720) and adjusting it to 2020 after reinstalling Windows fixed everything. Thanks for sharing your help—I was really stuck for hours before you provided the solution.
