By the way... you might want to look for a copy of Windows 2000 or even Windows 2003 and try using it on that system. Windows 2000 can run Windows XP drivers but won’t have the complex interface of XP and will be more reliable than Windows 98. It also uses minimal disk space—around 300-500 MB. Windows 2003, as a server OS, still supports some Windows XP drivers, so most components should work with XP drivers. You can turn off unnecessary services to keep memory usage low (typically about 80 MB out of 512 MB). The only drawback is that most free antivirus programs won’t function on server systems. Besides that... no issues with updates, no licensing headaches like with XP.

I might look for Windows 2000, but the machine I’ll use only has an AMD Duron 700Mhz and 256MB of RAM. I’m still unsure which graphics card to choose.

Also remember to take screenshots and use the snip tool when needed rather than capturing photos directly.

Lower the speed to win the 'saddest CPU' title (CPU-Z shows the slowest clocked Duron time)

This version runs smoothly on Windows 2000. A 256MB setup is sufficient. The standard installation typically needs around 50-60MB, but you can reduce it to 30-40MB by turning off unused services. There are many benefits too—true 32-bit support, more available applications, and improved stability.
