I recently installed a brand new setup using Windows 8.1 64-Bit. Since Microsoft hasn’t released significant updates lately, should I stick with it? There don’t seem to be major improvements compared to version 7. There might still be some benefits, but they’re unclear.

It seems you're confused about the update schedules. Windows 7 receives updates more frequently than Windows 8.1.

I genuinely enjoy Windows 8.1 and I don't believe I should change to NEIN or revert to version 7—it would receive even fewer updates.

When it comes out, switch to 9. It should make the UI feel more like a desktop experience. Backend improvements are also on the way. Notice the memory management updates from version 7 to 8.

I don’t have a touchscreen device at all, but what I’m talking about is possibly getting a Windows 8 Start Menu on it.
