Hello. Your system with Windows 8.1 x64 is performing quite poorly compared to older versions like Windows 7 x32. Adjusting settings from games is taking a long time, and it can take minutes for the system to return to normal after shutdown. For an X64 8.1 setup, the recommended specs on the Microsoft site are around 2GB of RAM. Is that sufficient for your setup? Your current configuration includes 2GB RAM, a 4770 GPU, and an AMD processor at 4800/32MB/s speed.

x64 typically requires more memory, which might indicate insufficient resources.

Yes, that's quite a lot of memory usage while idle. Is this normal for your system?

When idle performance is acceptable, gaming often hits a limit and begins relying on the hard drive as a page file, which significantly reduces speed.

Running on Windows 8.1 64-bit with 1.7 GB active. Everything seems to be working fine despite the background processes.

Make sure you have the correct 32-bit version or added extra RAM. This processor isn’t the strongest on the market. Also, think about updating the entire system thoroughly. A Kaveri APU would be a great upgrade option.

The system will remain active for a few more months. I'm looking to acquire some RAM now. Upgrading to 32-bit might help? (If I don't secure additional memory.)

It should be noted that.

That sounds odd. I can swear I saw the minimum requirement was around 4 GB for 64-bit and 2 GB for 32-bit on Windows 8... haha!
