Hey, I just received my new PC about a month back. Why does it blink an underscore when it boots before the Windows 8.1 logo appears? At the top left, it starts blinking, then moves to the next line, but still boots fine. It usually takes about 5-10 seconds on an SSD to reach the desktop normally. I’ve never had issues before. The only problem was a Windows 8 welcome screen that turned black with a cursor, and after about two minutes it restarted. Now the desktop is back, though I’m not sure if this is normal. This boot pattern reminds me of my old PC from five years ago—looked similar too (photo from Google).

Yes, you can avoid posting multiple times even if you don’t receive a prompt quickly. The video suggests there’s nothing incorrect, but sometimes USB devices may cause issues like a black screen or cursor instead of normal operation.

It looks like you're expressing confusion. Could you clarify what you're referring to?

Your setup supports UEFI, yet it's operating in Legacy mode. Could you clarify the reasons behind this configuration? Also, please share your complete system specifications.

I'm not familiar with tech jargon. Can you explain UEFI and LEGACY in simple terms? What advantages do they offer? Also, just to clarify, what does your system look like?

When I open BIOS, it shows either a UEFI or Legacy interface. (Photo from Google, Z97X Gaming 7, mostly the same color)
