I switched from my previous 8350 model to the brand-new X99 5820K build. My operating system (Windows 8.1 Pro) ran on an SSD, and after finally getting started with the new setup, I booted straight into Windows and everything looks fine. It still displays as legitimate. However, performance has dropped significantly, and I’m hesitant to reinstall because I don’t have extra space on my 512GB SSD. Would using CCleaner help a bit? Are there other tools or methods to speed up Windows 8.1 without a full reinstall?

Because you updated the motherboard and chipset, it’s best to perform a fresh installation of Windows. That’s the most reliable option.

I think that makes sense, I'll probably do it then. Appreciate your feedback.

No, I haven't checked your SSD firmware yet. Could you confirm if you've updated it recently?
