When I power on my computer, a - sign appears briefly, shifts down a line, and then launches the start-up process. This behavior is unusual. Is there a method to resolve this issue? Please share what you observe during the boot sequence.

It seems your setup follows a GPT format, yet your motherboard isn't fully UEFI enabled. The process varies depending on timing. Could you share your complete system details?

Ensure the latest BIOS/UEFI is installed. Verify the UEFI mode is set to UEFI, not BIOS/Legacy. Check if your SSD uses GPT or MBR and whether disconnecting the HDD improves performance. Disable unused hardware in the UEFI settings. Remove the graphics card entirely and switch to Intel integrated graphics—does this resolve the issue?

Check the UEFI firmware options for Windows 8. It’s helpful to be on that version.
