Open Settings, go to Appearance & Sound, then Change font. Select your preferred fonts from the list.

The options for adjusting font settings are limited in Windows 8.1 and 10. No registry changes are available for this purpose.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to alter the system font for Windows 8.1 since it's deeply embedded in the OS. This change isn't possible on Windows 8, 8.1, or earlier versions like Vista and XP.
