I recently switched to Windows 8.1 from Windows 7. Everything seems up to date and drivers are working properly. However, my PC frequently crashes with a blue screen and a message indicating a problem, then restarts itself. Checking the event log shows only kernel issues and occasional shutdowns—usually 2-3 times daily. This hasn’t happened with Windows 7 before. Anyone have any ideas or solutions?

Have you switched from a 32-bit to a 64-bit system? If yes, the drivers will require a 64-bit version.

The issue appears to be related to SSD firmware, likely a DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION. It's often caused by a firmware update for the SSD. You're experiencing this frequently, and since you don’t have the latest firmware for your MX100 SSD, it might help to update it.
