This situation is really unsettling. After resetting the computer, it kept showing an error message about bootmgr. I checked the BIOS and noticed one of my hard drives wasn’t recognized. When I pressed F12 to access the boot menu, it worked fine. I selected the unlisted drive and started Windows, but Avast and Windows Defender would close immediately. Now even after turning off the PC, it always returns to bootmgr. It seems there might be a deeper issue with the installation or driver setup. Please let me know what’s happening next!

It seems the bios isn't set up correctly, so you'll need to adjust your boot drives and place an order.

It fails when the Startup Recovery can't find Windows on an unlisted hard drive—it's as if Windows 8 is turning the drive into a ghost!

Explore alternative sources for troubleshooting. Review the guide carefully and attempt to resolve the issue. Verify if the HDD begins losing file information, which could indicate a problem with the device's identification.

First step would be to swap out the power cell.

The issue is that the boot sequence doesn't recognize the HDD where Windows is set up. Pressing F12 in the boot menu finally allows it to detect it.

This indicates the hard drive isn't configured correctly in the BIOS, likely because another drive is listed under boot devices. You should prioritize the HDD for startup.

The issue lies in the HDD boot priority list not recognizing it, while the F12 key triggers a manual boot process that does detect it.
