It enhances gaming experiences, according to my friends. W 8.1 is better than W 7. However, with the arrival of Windows 10, I might hold off.

For me, the distinction matters. I've noticed slight boosts in frame rates ranging from 2 to 3 fps in certain titles but minimal changes in others. Borederlands 2 seems to run better at around 7 fps. Overall, it's a somewhat inconsistent picture. Still, it's clear that Windows 8.1 offers a smoother and more responsive experience compared to Windows 7.

It's much better to wait. I didn't understand why it mattered until I saw it was because of DX, and it really makes sense now.
